Guide: Domain Changes

Domain Changes:

With the reduction in levels, the dynamic of domain power was shifted by a reasonable amount; many domains had spells that became unattainable. We took this opportunity to not only adapt domain rewards for E15, but to also do a balance pass of all of the domains so that the focus shifts away from the few top tier domains, providing more variety for clerics overall and discouraging players from choosing a deity just for the power its domain grants. You must choose at least one traditional domain for your deity.

Changes are in bold.

Animal

Bonus Feat: Animal Companion

-Bonus Spells: Magic Fang (1), Cat's grace (2), Dominate animal (3), True seeing (4), Greater Magic Fang (5).

Cavern

Bonus Feat: Stonecunning (+2 search bonus indoors)

Bonus Spells: Foundation of Stone (1), Stone to Flesh (4), Flesh to Stone (5)

Charm


Bonus Feat: Skill Focus (Diplomacy)

Bonus Spells: Charm Person (1), Charm Monster (5), Solipsism (6)

Death

- Negative Plane Avatar: Once per day, the cleric is able to summon a shadow that gains power as the cleric advances.

- The cleric gains access to the following spells at the specified spell level: death ward (3), phantasmal killer (4), Cloud Kill (5)

Destruction

- Smite Infidel: Once per day, the cleric can smite a creature of a different alignment than himself, adding his Charisma bonus to the attack roll and his cleric level to damage.Cooldown based.

- The cleric gains access to the following spells at the specified spell level: rage (3), acid fog (6),

Dream

Bonus Feat: Immunity to sleep: The cleric is immune to sleep effects, much as elves are.

Bonus Spells: sleep (1), deep slumber (3), phantasmal killer (4), hiss of sleep (6)

Drow

Bonus Feat: Lightning Reflexes

Bonus Spells: Clairaudience and Clairvoyance (2), Greater Invisibility (4)


Dwarf

Bonus Feat: Great Fortitude: The cleric becomes hardier than most.

Bonus Spells: Identify(1), Iron body (6)


Elf


- Point Blank Shot: The cleric is more proficient with a bow in close combat.

- The cleric gains access to the following spells at the specified spell level: True Strike (1), Cat's Grace (2), Hawkeye (3)


Evil

- Turn Outsider: The cleric's turn undead ability functions against outsiders, such as demons, devils, and bladelings.

- The cleric gains access to the following spells at the specified spell level: Ray of Enfeeblement (2), Evard's black tentacles (4), Planar Binding (6)

Family

Bonus Feat: NWN9 Protective Aura (doesn't affect cleric)

Bonus Spells: Insignia of Blessing (2), Insignia of Warding (3), Superior Resistance (5),

Fire

- Fire Resistance: The cleric gains fire resistance 5.

- The cleric gains access to the following spells at the specified spell level: burning hands (1), fireball (3), wall of fire (4), elemental shield (5), Firebrand (6)


Fury

Bonus Feat: Battle Master: Once per day, the cleric may gain a +1 bonus, plus 1 per five levels, to Dexterity, Constitution, attack rolls, and damage. The cleric also gains damage reduction equal to twice this amount. Like the barbarian's class ability, this DR is not overcome by any material or magic. The effect lasts for 5 rounds + the cleric's Charisma modifier.

- The cleric gains access to the following spells at the specified spell level: enlarge person(1), Righteous Fury (5), Tenser's transformation (6).

Gnome

Bonus Feat: Spell Focus (Illusion)

Bonus Spells: Mirror Image (2), Stoneskin (5),

Good

- Aura of Courage: The cleric is immune to fear and all allies receive a +4 saving throw bonus against fear.

- The cleric gains access to the following spells at the specified spell level: magic circle against evil (2), Holy Sword (4), lesser planar binding (5)

Halfling

Bonus Feat: Skill Focus (Hide)

Bonus Spells: Camouflage(1), Cat's Grace (2), Mass Cat’s Grace (6)


Hatred

- Inspire Hatred: The cleric gains the ability inspire hatred towards the selected foe among his allies once per day. The subject suffers a -2 penalty to their AC, Attack Bonus, and Saving Throws for 1 minute.

- The cleric gains access to the following spells at the specified spell level: Scare (2), Rage (4), Blasphemy (6)

Healing

- Empower Healing: The following healing spells are cast as if with the Empower Spell feat: cure minor wounds, cure light wounds, cure moderate wounds, cure serious wounds, and cure critical wounds.

- The cleric gains access to the following spells at the specified spell level: cure serious wounds (2), cure critical wounds (3), heal (5).


Illusion

- Spell Focus Illusion: The cleric is better able to deceive enemies.

- The cleric gains access to the following spells at the specified spell level: Color spray (1), Blur (2), Invisibility Sphere (3), Phantasmal Killer (4), Shadow Conjuration, Great (6)

Knowledge

-Bonus feat: Skill Focus (Lore)

- The cleric gains access to the following spells at the specified spell level: identify (1), knock (2), clairvoyance/clairaudience (3), true seeing (4), legend lore (5).


Law

- Iron Will: The cleric receives +2 to Will saves.

- The cleric gains access to the following spells at the specified spell level: lionheart (1), Lawful Sword(4), hold monster (5),


Mentalism

Bonus Feat: Iron Will

Bonus Spells: Clairaudience and Clairvoyance (3), Mind Fog (4), Lesser Mind Blank (5)

Metal

Bonus Feat: Weapon Proficiency (Exotic)

Bonus Spells: Keen Edge (3), Blade Barrier (5)


Mysticism

Bonus Feat: Mystic Protection: The cleric is shielded by divine will from harm once per day. This protection grants the cleric her Cha modifier as a bonus to all saving throws for a number of rounds equal to her caster level.

Bonus Spells: Lesser Visage of the Deity (2), Righteous Might (4), Holy Word(6).


Nobility


Bonus Feat: Spell Focus: (Enchantment)

Ocean

- Divine Health: The cleric is immune to the diseases they seek to spread among the world.

Retribution

Bonus Feat: Divine Might

Scalykind

Bonus Feat: Resist Poison

Spell

Storm

Bonus Feat: Resist Energy: Electricity: The cleric is resistant to the fury of the thunderous sky.

Bonus Spells: Gust of Wind (2), Call Lightning (3), Ice Storm (5), Chain Lightning(6).

Sun

- Exceptional Turning: The cleric has a greater chance of turning more powerful undead creatures, as well as being able to turn a larger number of undead at once.

- The cleric gains access to the following spells at the specified spell level: searing light (2), elemental shield (4), sunbeam (6).

Trade

Bonus Feat: Craft Wondrous Item

Bonus Spells: Identify (1), Legend Lore (5),


Tyranny

- Bonus Feat: Aura of Despair (-2 saves only, not full Blackguard version)

- The cleric gains access to the following spells at the specified spell level: Scare (2), Fear (4)


Undeath

- Extra turning: The cleric receives additional turn undead attempts.

- The cleric gains access to the following spells at the specified spell level: animate dead (2), create greater undead (6)
