Capping Frame Rate (AMD)

Postby Occupant Thu Aug 17, 2017 12:28 am

Neverwinter Nights 2 can be quite brutal on not only a single core of your CPU, but also the Graphics Card.

A recommendation when running NWN2 is to cap the frame rate of the game to match the refresh rate of your monitor (or whatever you wish it to be) to keep the card cool and also to use less power when it is not necessary. Most people tend to play NWN2 heavily.

I own a AMD Fury NANO card on my main gaming computer, and cap the frames at 75 FPS.

1. Right click your desktop background and open "AMD Radeon Settings" (Or open it through any other means)

2. Click on the "Gaming" tab to the top left

3. Select settings for NWN2 specifically, or if you wish to apply it globally, click "Global" in the top left
